Living the Christian life is living in a prayerful community. Christ Church in Short Hills is a welcoming fellowship sharing in the life of faith, love of God and sacrament of Holy Communion. We join in laughter, meals, celebrations and special gatherings of friends and family alike. We pray together and sing God’s praise together.

We invite you to visit our family. Join us for Sunday worship at either the 8 a.m. or 10 a.m. service. Children’s Worship begins at 9:45 a.m. and runs during the Eucharist service at 10 a.m.

We also offer opportunities for reflection and prayer throughout the week. Our clergy is always open for conversations over coffee. We hope to see you soon!

From our Rector

We are One in Christ through prayer, baptism, and the holy meal we share each week.

One in Christ instills respect for every person, welcomes every person and strives for justice for every person, because that is what we see in Jesus.

One in Christ appreciates other religions, other ways to God and other expressions of faith.

One in Christ determines how we define the words “neighbor” and “neighborhood.” Our neighbors are worldwide, from orphans at Good Shepard Home in Cameroon, to the mothers at Apostles’ House in Newark.

One in Christ invites all people into community, regardless of age, race, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, socioeconomic background, or physical and mental ability. We welcome all persons into full membership, to receive the sacraments, and into positions of leadership, as we honor and celebrate the diversity of God's creation.

One in Christ connects us across the centuries. Our worship style, prayers, and music are rooted in ancient traditions, but our sermons are about today’s news and what touches our lives now.

Here, we worship, pray, study, laugh, and cry together in a special way that nourishes and motivates us to address the challenges of our age.

We pray you will encounter God in our midst. We hope you will want to make this your new church home. Together, we are One in Christ.

Joyfully yours,

The Rev. Bowie Snodgrass
Rector
