Over the years members of Christ
Church have blessed this community with
wise financial stewardship. The rector,
wardens and vestry encourage
parishioners to reflect on the foresight of
people who established a tradition of
planned giving. Their experiences in our
community inspired them to commemorate
their time in Christ Church in generous
ways. Following in their footsteps will
enable us to perpetuate Christ
Church’s existence in the 21st century.
 

There are many things you can
accomplish with a planned gift:

• Remember a loved one or friend

• Strengthen the church’s financial
future
• Support a church program that is
especially important to you
• Enlarge and widen the church’s
outreach
• Make a general bequest to support
church operations

 

Opportunities for planned giving include:

OUTRIGHT GIFT: makes a gift of cash,
securities, or other assets, such as
objects of value or real estate,
immediately available to the church

BEQUEST: provides for the church and
loved ones through the donor’s will.


 

 

LIFE INSURANCE: allows a large gift
at small cost by designating the church
as a beneficiary of a new or existing
policy

LIFE INCOME PLANS: allows a donor
to receive income for life while making a
major gift to the church; a Pooled Income
Fund, Charitable Gift Annuity or
Charitable Remainder Trust are common
vehicles for doing this.
 
Discussing one’s stewardship and
financial future in the context of the
Christian community has deep roots in
Anglicanism. Ever since the Book of
Common Prayer of 1549 the minister of
the congregation has been instructed to
talk with parishioners about making
financial provisions for their families and
religious communities. You will find this
instruction on page 445 of the Book of
Common Prayer.



An appropriate planned gift can
provide significant tax advantages to
the donor. We urge that you consult
with your attorney, financial advisor and
family before making any decisions.
 

The Vestry has established funds for
