Christ
Church Nursery School was established in 1962. Since then we have played
an active role in the education of young children. The school is
sponsored by
Christ Church in Short Hills
and welcomes children of parishioners as well as children of Short Hills
and neighboring communities.
We
believe that children learn through appropriate play experiences. We
offer a wide variety of activities that contribute to the physical,
social, emotional, intellectual and aesthetic development of the child.
Our days are busy as we learn about ourselves and the world around us.
We are proud of our small class size and dedicated
teaching staff. Our school year runs from mid-September to mid-June. We
also host an annual six week summer program. On the upper level of our
school, there are nine different classrooms that welcome preschool
children ages two through six with several different class options
available. On the lower level of our school is our Drop-In Center where
childcare is offered on a set or flexible schedule for children ages six
months through age five. The center is open from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
and follows the Nursery School calendar.
State licensed, the school serves over 200 children
offering spacious classrooms and four fenced in outdoor play areas. With
membership support from the National Association of Episcopal Schools,
we strive to follow the guidelines and curriculum set forth by the
NAEYC
(National Association for the Education of Young Children).
“Helping
children embrace learning with curiosity, enthusiasm and confidence!”
